The program will be held at Veterans Memorial Park on East Taylor Street - Memorial Drive across from the Flint River Regional Library. Retired United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Roy McClain will be the guest speaker.  Chief McClain was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma and enlisted in the Air Force upon graduation from high school in 1977.  In 1982 he graduated from the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) School. Chief McClain completed NCO Leadership School in 1984 and the NCO Academy in December, 1988.

In 2006 Chief McClain led the largest war time deployment of USAF Explosive Ordnance Disposal troops ever into Afghanistan, conducting Combat Operations, Render Safe and Route Clearance Operations, in an area of roughly 161,000 square kilometers.

Chief McClain’s military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Air Combat Action Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with single service star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Korean Defense Service Medal.

Bleachers will be available for seating but attendees are encouraged to bring personal chairs as well. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Spalding County Senior Center.
