The program will be held at Veterans Memorial Park on East Taylor Street - Memorial Drive across from the Flint River Regional Library. In 2006 Chief McClain led the largest war time deployment of USAF Explosive Ordnance Disposal troops ever into Afghanistan, conducting Combat Operations, Render Safe and Route Clearance Operations, in an area of roughly 161,000 square kilometers.

Chief McClain’s military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Air Combat Action Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with single service star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Korean Defense Service Medal.
