Event Details

Mainstreet Players announces its 2025-2026 season that opens with a two-hour explosion of comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong. It is a “play within a play” as the audience will be welcomed to the opening night of the fictitious Cornley Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder in Habersham Manor. This 1920’s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show-an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that cannot play dead, and actors who trip over everything, including their lines. Part Mony Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award-winning comedy has been described as a smash hit farce.

Audiences will be pleased to see a blend of new and familiar faces in our opening production. We welcome Jennifer Hoffman, Scott Hixon, and Kevin Banks to the MSP family. Returning to our stage: Nic Clark, Mitchell Brinkley III, Brad Jester, Chris Gansel and Elise Wright. All actors play multiple parts in this sidesplitting show. BJ Hughes, MSP Scenic Designer, directs the production. Franky Dansby serves as head carpenter and Norma Richardson, MSP Artistic Director, will costume the performers. Nate Barnes will provide lighting, and Scott Welborn will design and execute the sound for this performance. Keith Potter serves as stage manager and Janice Aiken serves as production assistant.

The Play That Goes Wrong runs will runWednesday, September 17 through Sunday, September 28. Wednesday-Saturday performances are at 7:30 PM, with Sunday matinee performances at 3:00 PM. To buy tickets, contact the Main Street Players box office: 770-229-9916. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, so call promptly to reserve your seat.
