Grace and Glorie by Tom Seigler-Press Release-Final
Main Street Players opens its 24th season with the heartwarming Grace and Glorie. Award winning screenwriter and playwright, Tom Ziegler, has authored a story where two opposites fall into the same world. A cantankerous 90-year-old mountain woman, Grace, gets a visit in her dying days from a Type-A businessperson, Glorie, who has moved from New York and become a hospice volunteer. The cranky Grace angrily tells Glorie that she does not need any “Northern Yankee” to help her die.
Thus begins this contentious, hysterical, “odd couple” relationship. MSP favorites: Carla Cloud (Grace) and Elise Wright (Glorie) play the leads. Norma Richardson, artistic director of MSP, directs and costumes the production. Keith Potter serves as the play's stage manager and Janice Aiken is production assistant. Main Street’s resident designer BJ Hughes creates the set, with aid from head carpenter Frank Dansby. Marian Sorensen provides sound design, with lighting design and production lighting by Nate Barnes.
Grace and Glorie will run Wednesday, September 18th through Sunday, September 29th. Wednesday-Saturday performances are at 7:30 PM, with Sunday matinee performances at 3:00 PM. To buy tickets, contact the Main Street Players box office at 770-229-9916. Tickets are expected to sell quickly so call promptly to reserve your seat.
