2024 IDEA Symposium

“Compassion Fatigue:  Running on Empty”

In the course of our lifetimes, almost every one of us will take on the role of care giver in some capacity.  This role brings rewards and satisfaction, but it also often comes at a cost and takes a heavy toll, not only on individual care givers, but also on their families and communities.  Because of the significant impact of care giving on so many in so many diverse professions and roles, the theme of our second IDEA Symposium, a professional learning conference presented by the University of Georgia’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the UGA Griffin Campus, is “Compassion Fatigue:  Running on Empty.”

The IDEA Symposium, which will be held on Friday, April 19th, 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM, will feature presentations on topics such as compassion fatigue’s societal impact, burnout and toxic environments, vicarious trauma, and the mental, physical, and emotional aspects of compassion fatigue.

The symposium is free and open to the public, but registration for the Symposium is REQUIRED as space is limited.

We hope to see you there.
