Introduction

To start off 2025 the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce would like to highlight and thank The Emerald Chandelier! You can support The Emerald Chandelier by visiting them for lunch, purchasing tea and other goods, reserving rooms for events, and scheduling an afternoon tea! It’ll be an experience that you’ll never forget!

The Emerald Chandelier and Teresa Reynolds have been very involved with the Chamber, and we’d like to use this opportunity to highlight them and to thank them for their support with events like Business After Hours, Taste of History, and hosting a wrap up party after the Cemetery Ramble in 2023.

For those of you who are not familiar with The Emerald Chandelier, it is a quaint, welcoming, charming, and wonderful teahouse located on 204 W Poplar St, Griffin, GA 30224. Teresa wants The Emerald Chandelier to be known as a happy place. After spending time there drinking chai tea with Teresa and learning about her and her business, describing The Emerald Chandelier as a happy place doesn’t do it justice. We would describe The Emerald Chandelier as a wonderful and peaceful place where you can spend time with loved ones partaking in delicious food and delightful tea while being served by the welcoming and pleasant staff there!

History

The Emerald Chandelier is owned and operated by Teresa Reynolds. Teresa came to Griffin, GA 5 years ago and fell in love with the house that would later become what we know as The Emerald Chandelier during an estate sale. The house was built around 1870, and it took Teresa about 10 months to complete renovations on the house. She originally intended to start a coffee shop, but she eventually decided that a teahouse would allow her to better display the charm of the house.

The name of The Emerald Chandelier was inspired by a small emerald chandelier ornament owned by Teresa. Fun fact: Teresa’s birthstone is an emerald and green happens to be her signature color. Teresa has also been unable to find similar ornaments which makes her ornament and her business one of a kind.

The Emerald Chandeliers charm and atmosphere make it one of a kind. Teresa and the Emerald Chandelier bring warmth, kindness, and generosity to our community. The Chamber and Griffin benefit greatly from their presence in the community. Teresa envisions The Emerald Chandelier as 'a happy place' where locals and tourists can unwind, connect, and savor a great cup of tea. From her perspective the Emerald Chandelier provides guests the opportunity to truly unwind and enjoy the company of one another while enjoying a great cup of tea.
