Historic Downtown Griffin To Host Griffin Gameday With    Pub Crawl And Football

Are you ready for some fooootball? The Griffin Downtown Council and Griffin Main Street Program are set to host “Griffin Gameday” on September 14 in historic downtown. This Second Saturday event will kick off with a “pre-game” experience starting that morning at local businesses and restaurants, followed by a pub crawl and more football at 5pm.

Broad Street Mill will kick off the pre-game festivities with a Tailgate and Fall Open House event, featuring over ten boutiques to shop and explore from 10am to 5pm. Plus, hotdogs, popcorn, beer, and wine! Wear a jersey for 10% off in-store purchases. Oh yeah... FOOTBALL GAMES WITH BE SHOWN ALL DAY!

Grab lunch at 6th Street Pier, Happy Daze Bar & Grill, or Slices Pizzeria to catch the (UGA vs. Arkansas State) football game at 12pm noon. A bar party with patio games and extended happy hour at 6th Street, which is opening early exclusively for this Second Saturday event; 10% off your purchase all day when wearing your favorite team gear at Happy Daze and Slices.

Celebrate Griffin Gameday by wearing your favorite football team gear as you stroll from place to place to catch the next game with your Go Cup (a legal way to enjoy an alcoholic beverage as you walk around downtown starting at 4pm, just ask for one at your favorite downtown restaurant). Shop, dine, and get your football on between 5pm and 8pm during Second Saturday’s Griffin Gameday with special offers at participating businesses. And don’t forget the Art Walk, with nearly a dozen local artisans displaying and selling their art on Hill and Solomon, with two featured artists - Heather Soares in front of Bank Street Café and Rose Dean at Caldwell Cottage. Plus, the “after dark” experience starting at 8pm at Doc Hollidays Saloon with drink specials, free pool til 10pm, and live music.

Second Saturdays in Downtown Griffin is a free, family-friendly event and our entire community is invited to explore all that Downtown Griffin has to offer. Each month will bring a truly unique experience and different theme to the downtown area, including new artists, free entertainment, special events, new offers, deals, and promotions at varying restaurants and retailers across downtown.
