Jeff Butterworth

Jeff Butterworth is a dynamic and accomplished leader with over 27 years of experience in the electric and gas utility industry as of mid 2025. He currently serves as Area Manager for Georgia Power in Coweta, Fayette, and Spalding Counties, where he leads internal teams and external partnerships to drive strategic growth, infrastructure development, and customer satisfaction. Previously, he served as Director of Growth and Retention for Southern Company Gas, overseeing business development, energy solutions, and market strategy for Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas. Jeff’s career includes leadership in external affairs, compliance, customer service, and field operations, with a consistent focus on building high-performing teams and delivering innovative solutions across diverse business units.

In addition to his corporate leadership, Jeff has played a pivotal role in shaping regional and statewide initiatives through extensive board service. He currently serves on the boards of the Newnan-Coweta, Fayette County, and Griffin-Spalding Chambers of Commerce, and has held key leadership positions including Chair of the Cherokee County Development Authority and the Regional Business Coalition of Metro Atlanta. His ability to bridge internal strategy with external engagement has made him a trusted voice in economic development, workforce advancement, and community impact. Jeff holds an MBA and BBA in Management from Kennesaw State University, and an Associate of Applied Science from Abraham Baldwin College. He is also a Certified Energy Manager and a graduate of multiple leadership programs across Georgia.
