Main Street Players closes out its 2024-2025 season with Rumors and It's No Rumor… It Is A Rollicking Good Time! Neil Simon’s classic farce follows five couples that had all been invited to a dinner party to celebrate a sixth couple's 10th anniversary. However, everything changed when the couples discovered the host (Charlie) had shot himself, his servants and hostess were missing, and dinner hadn't been prepared. What develops is utter nonsense and hilarity. First produced in 1988, Neil Simon wrote that it was in response to a difficult time in his own life.
Audiences will be pleased to see many familiar and returning faces on this production. Heather Shepherd plays Chris Gorman, Mitchell Brinkly III-Ken Gorman, Jill Shedd-Claire Ganz, Chris Gansel-Lenny Ganz, Issac Melton-Ernie Cusack, Karen Beyer-Cookie Cusack, Will Pitts-Glenn Cooper, Elise Wright-Cassie Cooper, Brad Jester-Officer Welch and Keith Potter-Officer Pudney. BJ Hughes, MSP Scenic Designer, will direct the production. Franky Dansby serves as head carpenter and Norma Richardson, MSP Artistic Director, will costume the performers. Nate Barnes will provide lighting, and Scott Welborn will design and execute the sound for this performance. Keith Potter serves as stage manager and Janice Aiken serves as production assistant.
