Summer And Art Walk In
Downtown This Saturday

With Vintage Cars And Local Artists To Celebrate An All American Summer
July 13, 2019, Griffin, GA — Saturday, July 13, 2019 will continue with Griffin’s downtown initiative titled “Second Saturday” in historic Downtown Griffin. Presented by Griffin Main Street and in partnership with Griffin Downtown Council, City of Griffin, and Flint River Alliance of Visual Artists, the purpose of Second Saturday is to energize the local community to come out to shop, dine, and explore Downtown Griffin. Beginning at 5pm, nearly 30 local painters, artists, and craftspeople of every collective will be found lining the streets of Hill and Solomon—as well as at marked locations throughout the historic downtown area—and in partnership with local businesses to feature live demos, pop up shops, exhibits, and more. Participating businesses throughout downtown will be open late with shopping discounts, sales, promotional giveaways, and deals only available on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
The lineup for this All American event is extensive! July featured artists include: Legendary Blues Harmonica Player, Bennie Mobley who will be performing and reciting stories while traveling around the streets Downtown and local artists who will be showcasing their personal art that pairs well with the All American patriotic theme. Participating businesses and activities include: All American Car Show on Solomon Street, a juggling stilt walker, Summer Concert Series in the Park at Sixth, vintage cars and booth sales at The Cotton Mill, Open Mic Night at Iris City Market, tap takeover and release party at Bank Street Café with Macon Beer, $40 Wine Basket Giveaway at Sip N’ Shop, $7 frozen margaritas at Smokin Margaritas, Grand Opening of Atlanta Vapor with 30% off the entire store, Grand Opening of Caldwell Cottage with booth sales and refreshments til 10pm, Christmas in July painting with buy one, get one half off ornaments and 20% off Christmas items at ‘stache studios, as well as promotions and artists at 6th St Pier, Built to Last Tattoos, Corner Café, Cyber Cloud, Doc Holliday’s Saloon, Dog House, Frios, Griffin Gallery, Lola’s Cigars, Slices Pizzeria, and among others!
July’s Second Saturday “AFTER DARK” events will provide additional entertainment offering something for everyone. Enjoy the Summer Concert Series at Park at Sixth hosted by Macon Beer—with food provided by Bank Street Café for a tap takeover and beer release party, along with a concert with All American hits from 8pm to 11pm. Grab yourself a green CITY GO-CUP for alcoholic beverages from any participating downtown bar or restaurant for the Art Walk / Bar Hop.
