*The University of Georgia Research and Education Garden will host our annual Art in the Garden event on Sunday, September 9, from 1 to 4 PM.  We currently have almost 40 artists planning to show their talents, including oils, watercolors, photography, woodworking, jewelry, glass, pottery, gourds, music, and more.  Please mark your calendars for this great afternoon event.

The Research and Education Garden is open during daylight hours.  If you have the opportunity, come out and stroll through the beautiful settings.  Tables are set up for the public to enjoy a leisurely lunch or break in the day.  Activities are offered throughout the year such as “Scarecrows in the Garden” in October, a visit from Santa during the holiday season, along with kite flying, Mother’s Day activities, and so much more.  Visit our Facebook page @UGA Research and Education Garden Events.  The Garden is located at 129 W. Ellis Road, just west of the UGA Campus in Griffin.

*The 2018 Agroforestry and Wildlife Field Day is set for September 20, 2018 on the University of Georgia Griffin Campus. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the program beginning at 9:00 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from 28 sessions throughout the day. Each session will run for 45 minutes. Lunch will be served at 12:15 p.m.  This event is sponsored by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Warnell School of Forest and Natural Resources, Georgia Forestry Commission, Georgia DNR-Wildlife Resources Division, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC).

*Campus Tours are scheduled throughout the year.  Prospective students and their families are invited on campus to learn more about what the University of Georgia Griffin Campus has to offer.  For a complete list of dates and to register call 770-412-4400 or go online at

*The Campus Store, located on the first floor of the Flynt Building, at 1109 Experiment Street, is freshly stocked with Officially Licensed UGA apparel, souvenirs and gifts.  With football season right around the corner it is a good time to get your Bulldog shirts, hats, flags, mugs, banners and more.  A coffee nook is set up adjacent to the store to gather and visit.  The regular Campus Store hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

*The Mule Barn is turning into the Dundee Café in the heart of the Griffin Campus, as we speak.  This is thanks to a gift from the Dundee Community Association.  The Dundee Mills operated in Griffin for over a century in the area across from the Experiment Station, now the University of Georgia Griffin.  When the café opens it will be a welcoming place to meet and eat for the entire community.  The official UGA dedication will take place October 4that 2:00 pm.

Continuing Education offers various programming throughout the year for the public.  Be sure to check for future upcoming programs on our website at and click on Continuing Education.  Be sure to check out our Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter at UGA GRIFFIN.
