*The Dundee Café located in the Historic Mule Barn nestled in the heart of the UGA Griffin Campus, will be unveiled on October 4th at 2:00 p.m. during the official opening ceremony.   This renovation and restoration is thanks to a gift from the Dundee Community Association.  The Dundee Mills operated in Griffin for over a century in the area across from the Experiment Station, now the University of Georgia Griffin.  When the café opens it will be a welcoming place to meet and eat for the entire community.  The public is invited to the official recognition ceremony taking place October 4that 2:00 pm. 

*Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at Stuckey Auditorium on the UGA Griffin Campus on Monday, October 8th from 2 to 6 p.m.  To schedule a time please contact Ashley at ashley.biles@uga.edu or call 770-228-7264.

The UGA Research and Education Garden will be hosting its annual “Scarecrows in the Garden” beginning October 9th and running through October 21st when there will be a special celebration from 1-4 p.m.  Plan to bring the family to this free and fun event that will feature all kinds of Scarecrows scattered throughout the Garden.  If any groups are interested in displaying their scarecrow creation please email Dr. Wayne Gardner at wgardner@uga.edu for information.

*The UGA Research and Education Garden is open during daylight hours.  If you have the opportunity, come out and stroll through the beautiful settings.  Tables are set up for the public to enjoy a leisurely lunch or break in the day.  Activities are offered throughout the year such as “Scarecrows in the Garden” in October, a visit from Santa during the holiday season, along with kite flying, Mother’s Day activities, and so much more.  Visit our Facebook page @UGA Research and Education Garden Events.  The Garden is located at 129 W. Ellis Road, just west of the UGA Campus in Griffin.

*Campus Tours are scheduled throughout the year.  Prospective students and their families are invited on campus to learn more about what the University of Georgia Griffin Campus has to offer.  For a complete list of dates and to register call 770-412-4400 or go online at griffin.uga.edu/campusvisit

*The Campus Store, located on the first floor of the Flynt Building, at 1109 Experiment Street, is freshly stocked with Officially Licensed UGA apparel, souvenirs and gifts.  With football season right around the corner it is a good time to get your Bulldog shirts, hats, flags, mugs, banners and more.  A coffee nook is set up adjacent to the store to gather and visit.  The regular Campus Store hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

UGA’s Continuing Education is partnering with First United Methodist Church and Ms. Trudy Gill to present a fun, adult, hands-on cooking experience in the upcoming program,  Cooking with Trudy on Tuesdays from 6-9 pm beginning October 16th for 4 weeks.  For registration and information please contact the UGA Continuing Education Department at 770-229-3477 or visit www.griffin.uga.edu and click on Continuing Ed.
