UGA ANNOUNCEMENTS

*The Dundee Cafe at the historical UGA mule barn, is happy to announce “From the Farm” as the new vendor.  Culinary artist, Marcie Bradberry, will be heading up the cafe in the newly renovated facility and the doors will be open for the public very soon.  The Dundee Café sits in the heart of the Griffin Campus and will be a welcoming place to meet and eat for the entire community.  This renovation of the 100 year old mule barn was made possible through a gift from the Dundee Community Association.  The Dundee Mills operated in Griffin for over a century in the area which was across from the Experiment Station, now the University of Georgia Griffin.  Announcements for the Grand Opening will be made very soon.

 

*Go Fly a Kite – A Fun, Family Event, will be held at the UGA Research and Education Garden on Sunday, March 10, from 1 – 4 p.m.  Bring your kites and have a fun time at the Garden located at 129 West Ellis Road, across from the UGA Griffin Campus.  For more information call 770-228-7288.

 

*Storm-Damaged Tree Cleanup Training will be offered for the PRIVATE SECTOR ONLY, on Tuesday, March 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the UGA Research & Education Garden, 129 Ellis Road in Griffin.  Participants must be trained in basic chainsaw safety, use and maintenance.  Certification will be provided at completion. *A Special Financial Planning Symposium, Advising and Mentoring Minority Students for Success, is scheduled for April 5th from 8am to 1pm in Stuckey Auditorium on the UGA Griffin Campus.   Faculty, staff and leaders in the financial planning industry will come together to exchange ideas, network and discuss ways to promote overall diversity in the financial planning field through the UGA Griffin Campus of the College of Family and Consumer Science.  For more information call 770-412-4400 or visit online at www.griffin.uga.edu

*The Campus Store, located on the first floor of the Flynt Building at 1109 Experiment Street, has new UGA and Georgia Bull Dawg items arriving weekly.  The shelves are stocked with Officially Licensed UGA apparel, souvenirs and gifts.  A lounge is set up adjacent to the store to gather and visit.  The Campus Store hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
